그 스스로도 뛰어난 가수였던 프로듀서 Bobby Orlando – 또는 Bobby “O” – 는 그의 인디레이블에서에 발표한 일련의 디스코 앨범과 Hi-NRG 앨범을 통해 80년대의 하나의 전설이 되었다. 어릴 적 Alice Cooper 와 T. Rex 를 즐겨듣던 Orlando는 클래식 학교의 학위를 거부하고 한 글리터 밴드에서 키타를 쳤다. 이후 디스코에 감명 받은 Orlando 는 1977년 Todd Forester의 ‘Dancin’이라는 곡의 엔지니어를 담당했다.
